Who can benefit from EMDR therapy?

As we go through life, we accumulate memories—some positive, some painful. Sometimes, these painful memories are accompanied by negative beliefs about ourselves, such as I'm not good enough, I can't trust anyone, or I'm a failure. These beliefs, known as negative cognitions (NCs), can become deeply rooted in our minds, influencing how we see ourselves, others, and the world around us.

EMDR therapy targets painful memories and associated negative beliefs, helping you process and release them. By doing so, EMDR allows you to reframe these experiences and adopt more positive, adaptive beliefs about yourself. This process can lead to profound changes in how you feel, think, and respond to life’s challenges. This can be done in weekly sessions, but can also be effective in more intensive sessions.

Children, adults, teens, and even groups can benefit from this type of therapy.
